Beyond and Back Fishing and Shelling Charters features Captain Stas, who is a retired Fish and Wild Life Conservation Commission officer and investigator. Captain Stas has been a charter captain for 20 years and is an area expert! Captain Gregg started started his career working at Brookfield Zoo in Chicago, then on to Disney and Cypress Gardens, caring for the animals and doing the famous wild life shows. Captain Stas earned a BS in recreation and park administration as a naturalist.
We also offer a shelling guide. Lisa, who has trained with the Conservancy of SW Florida and currently volunteers for them as a guide for the guided walks at Clam Pass. She will accompany guests on shelling tours, if desired.

We at Beyond and Back provide a safe and fun excursion. We protect the environment and use approved fishing gear and all catch and release fish are respected and well taken care of. Captain Stas is a member of Captains for Clean Water, which is a grass roots nonprofit organization advocating for clean water and healthy estuaries across Florida....

Dolphins wake surfing
Capt Stas occasionally finds that local area dolphins are very playful and truely enjoy wake surfing behind the boat. This dolphin spent about 15 minutes with us! So exciting to see.
White and brown pelicans lounging on a sand bar by Caxambas Pass.
These white pelicans are migratory and come from Canada and Northern US in October and can stay through March. They fly about 1500 miles non-stop to winter in Florida!
